Something that happened in school today
Today,Wednesday,is one of my favourite days as there is PE(physical education).Today our teacher Mr Lee instructed us to do hundred metres as practice for the NAFA test.We started with a jog around the school as warm up.My friends and I did a slow jog as we wanted to conserve energy for the run.Soon we started to run, according to register number.I was the number 41,so I had a long time to wait for my turn. One of the funniest moments was when of of the overweight classmates ran very slowly and failed.Another time was when one of my classmates ran with his arms failing about and looked like a chicken. We laughed ourselves silly at him.Everyone ran at different speeds from lumbering hippos to speedy hares.Mostly, those who ran fast were in physical activites such as track and field and floorball. Those who were in CCAs like Chinese Orchastra and Concert Band found it tougher to run and more phisically demanding. Then a classmate called Harris hid behind a nearby car and tried to scare the running classmates from there. All of us found it highly amusing as since he was so fat we could all see him clearly and so he did not succeed. Then sooner than expected it was my turn.I was running with a classmate called Zheng Hao.Since I had training later I did not want to go all out so he trashed me easily. Then as we still had some time left Mr Lee asked us to go up to the hall and play floorball.I had teamed up with my friends and although we tried our best we still lost to the opposing team 2-1.Even so,I still felt it was a good day.

Something that happened in school today.
Today was a pretty bad day for me. Let me tell you what happened.
It happened after my Home Economics lesson. We had just finished our lesson and then we were rushing back for our Math lesson as we had a test awaiting us and Mr. Su did not like us to be late for lessons. There was another class waiting outside the kitchen and a friend of mine disturbed me, so I pointed the finger at him. Then, I continued back to class.
Then as I reached the classroom, walking along with my best friend Clemon, Mr Su suddenly asked me to stand by the door. Then he let the others in and after a while then he called me in. I was bewildered and walked in. Then he told me he saw me pointing the finger and wanted to punish me. I was dumbstruck as I did not even think he could even see that. Apparently he had eagle eyesight. So he made me call my parents in front of the whole class. My mother asked me to call my father. My father sounded more amused than angry and did not scold me. When I hanged up however I was tearing up as I had sort of added onto my parents stress and disappointed them so I was sad. I had learned my lesson this time and will learn from it. As Mr. Su said, it can be solved with words and not with those rude gestures. Those actions may escalate to violence such as fights and quarrels. It is better to use your mouth than your fists so I will heed his advice.

A problem I encountered and how I solved it
Today I was bored in the afternoon and so,as I had finished all my homework,I decided to log on to Facebook. So,I typed:"www.facebook.com"into the toolbar. What happened next realy tested my patience.
Normally,it would only take a few seconds for the Facebook page to pop up.This time however it was taking longer than usual.I took it as that there were so many people logging in into Facebook so it was lagging and so I took out my Nintendo DS and started playing Super Mario 64.I played for about five minutes or so then my character in the game got eaten up by a humongous purple fish so I looked up and to my surprise it was STILL loading.I was a bit annoyed but decided to let it laod some more and so returned my attention to Mario.
Then, about ten minutes later,my character got caught in between long spikes protruding from the ceiling and the floor and became Swiss cheese so i looked up once more only to find,to my utter dismay, the blank page of a still loading window. Now my patience was wearing thin and I was really pissed with the computer.I now rebooted my computer and while waiting for the internet to get connected I resumed playing. After that,I tried to access Face book again while muttering darkly to myself.Soon,my character once again, died miserably, this time getting hit by a giant snowball which immobilized him and the hungry mushroom monsters nearby took this opportunity to gobble him up.Sighing,I now looked at the computer screen, fearing the worst and it came through. The Facebook page refused to pop up.Seriously angry now,I jumped up and started hurling vulgarities at the computer. Then my mother walked past and asked me what happened.I told her and she suggested to leave the computer off for about fifteen minutes or so and let it cool down.
Grumbling now,I complied to her instructions and let it be.After that,I tried again and it really worked!I am now still quite angry at Facebook.

Something unusual that happened -SAA cross country competiton
Today was a good day and a bad day at the same time.Today,23 of January,1.30pm at Bedok Reservoir, the Victoria cross country team assembled at some benches in the park.It was the day of the SAA(Singapore Athletics Association) annual cross country competition.Everyone was nervous and yet also a bit excited at the same time.We were nervous as this was our first competition in a long time.We were excited as this competition was a gauge for us to see how much we have improved since the last competition and also lets us see how we fare against the other schools in Singapore.I was quite scared myself as I had fallen sick not too long ago and I have not gotten my 'form' back yet entirely.
Soon the first race began, which was the woman's category. When it started,we started to warm up as our race was immediately after theirs.Soon, the time of doom was upon us and we trudged wearily to the starting line, dreading what would happen next.
At last we lined up at the line.Everyone was perspiring buckets and people were jostling about. We tried our best to push the sec one guys, easily the smallest people there,in front so they would not be stuck at the back.We could not see much as there were like so many hulking Junior College and University boys there and then, without any warning, the race started after a single foghorn blast.Immediately the entire crowd surged forward and tried to secure a good position.
What happened after wards was a blur.I remembered the rapid beating of my heart, the ragged gasps I made, the sound of gravel crunching underfoot.I remember surging forward to overtake other boys, only to be overtaken back.I remembered the desperate struggles to continue onward, the despair on those who had given up for good and were walking slowly at the side of the path.I remembered the cries of the Victoria supporters, the burning lungs and muscles as I sprinted towards the finishing line, the sound of blood rushing through my ears as I overtook at least three people, the relief as I crossed the line.
After that race,I stood by the side and supported others who have not finished.Soon everyone finished and after a brief spell of half an hour the results were out and the prize giving begun.However.my group and I were in for a surprise as surprisingly ,we had won the third placing in the team category for the under sixteen boys.We were stunned and slowly it turned into delight. However we should have known it was not to last.
Soon it was the prize giving. My team was team A.The other team, team C were first. Then it happened.First they announced wrongly that Team C got third. My team looked about in confusion but still walked up to get the bronze award. Then suddenly a few minutes later they changed the entire thing and it became that Team C were the champions and that Sports School's team got third. All of us were dumbstruck as it was supposed to be VICTORIA to get that award for third place. It was like my team and I never existed. We were disgusted with the organization of the staff and wanted to leave but Miss Sheika stopped us.She said that even though the SAA staff screwed the results up and that even though we did not receive the prize we should still respect the remaining prize recipients. She also said that even though we do not have medals to show it,in our hearts,we know what we achieved and that was enough so for those who did well should feel proud of ourselves. So even though it was a good day for me as I did well,it was also a bad day as my team and I did not receive anything for our efforts.Personally I am still angry at the SAA staff. They should have better organization than this. How can they attract runners with this unsatisfying performance by the staff? They should work on this and hopefully they will not screw things up next year.

Doing some community work something unusual that happened today
Today at 11.15am I went with my father to the Lions Befrienders club at Ang Mo Kio to take care of the elderly people who were there to enjoy themselves. At first i was reluctant to go but after hearing my father's words i agreed to go.These elderly are really pitiful as they had been abandoned by their children and now live in cramped, unhygenic one roon flats on their own without anybody to care for them. These outings, along with sightseeing trips volunteers bring them to,lets them feel that there are still people that care for them and that their not alone.
When i arrived, the event was already in full swing. The elderly were split into tables of six and were now tasked with completing a jigsaw puzzle. So, i went to a random table to help, thus starting my volunteer work. The elderly were extremely determined to complete this puzzle and my table solved it pretty fast, albeit a few moments of confusion.
Then it was time to serve the food. The variety of food were provided by volunteers who cooked it themselves and then brought it here for the elderly to enjoy. Some volunteers were in charge of ladling food onto plates then they would pass it to the other volunteers who would act like waiters and bring the plate overflowing with food to tables of six ravenous elderly.Unfortunately i was one of the unlucky waiters. Each time i brought a plate to a table, hot, sticky and oily sauce would drop on my poor, unsuspecting fingers.I had to visit the sink more than once. The old folks were mostly thankful and appreciative and thanked me as i brought them their richly filled plates but i still met a few 'elderly statues' who didn't even smile or nod their head.
Then, when the elderly were finally sated, they moved on to enjoy themselves with a karoke session.I have to say, some of them sing pretty well for a seventy year old person with a throat ravaged by time or my ears were inexperienced judges. Some could even sing english songs in a wavering voice filled with uncernity which disappeared in time. The other elderly eagerly sang along to ancient songs while the volunteers clapped along to the rhythm.
After serving the elderly for so long, surely the volunteers deserved a break, right? So the hardworking volunteers myself included took a breather while the elderly rocked out to their ancient songs. Most of the volunteers took what was left of the food and sat down to eat while some took a swig of water. Some also took the desert that was lefterover and happily slurped away.I however did'nt take a thing as i had my lunch waiting for me at home.Sadly,i had to leave when they were getting ready to give the elderly oranges and red packets along with blessings of good health as the Chinese New Year was coming.
After this incident i have now realised how priviledged i am to be living in such nice environments compared to these old folks. They were once patr of society too and now they deserve to take a nice long break full of relaxation before they pass on.We now should do stuff like this to help society and at the same time help the old folks enjoy their last stages of life. After doing this I now feel more compationate towards those elderly who were abandoned by their children and to those ungrateful children, shame on you for abandoning those who took care of you,fed you and provided you with everything they could for you to grow up and now,in their time of need, there is no one around to give them the love and care they should recieve .I would like to do this some other time again in the near future.

Blogger is super laggy.
I tired to put some pictures like before but apparently its too laggy and i waited for like half hour before i gave up and canceled the stupid upload.Wanted to put a picture of my cross country jersey but.......any way today after recess was really crazy.Mr Su made lots of people stand on their chairs and gave a lengthly lecture on how fortunate we are to study four years for O level..........................................................................anyway then steven, christian, charles and si wei were standing for a reason i will explain later on and the rest were standing because they were late for class.the four 'clowns' were standing because apparently during the three periods of english on thursday, in class, christian did a obscene act when the teacher was teaching. The other three saw this and laughed extremely loudly. Then, our ever vigilent moniter,Jack, saw this too and after school, rushed to the second floor staff room, seeked an audience with our discipline master Mr Chia and told him about it.So todsy they got a blue whale sized scolding from Mr Chia during recess.Bet they were not thrilled.

Lesson time during english
Hi this video shows my class. The unusual arrangement is because our literature teacher made us move the tables until it was like that. Its a short one but if it had sound it would have been really noisy as my class is not cooperating with the teacher at all.She could be talking about classwork and someone else would be yakking away with his friend. Its like the teacher is non-existent.Then, a particular classmate, would think up a retarded idea to use a stapler's reflective surface to shine a light into my teacher's eyes who's not in this video who happens to be a science teacher AND happens to be a physics teacher AND happens to be an expert on light AND knows how to create a laser and all that light stuff. So go figure because that classmate happens to be a little mentally unstable and cannot make the link between shining some noob sunlight into a teacher's eyes who can make a super-strong laser and burn a hole in his skull.
Soccer
My class 2B always plays soccer against 2G at the school field during our recess. The people who play all the time are:Edmund Kevin Aaron Jonathan Chia and Rix. Those who seldom play are Sean who is myself,Harold,Dinesh,Jonathan Leng, and Jin Kai.Here's a picture showing Kevin dodging a player from 2G.Although quite big in size,Kevin is suprisingly agile, which makes him a good attacking midfielder but he has one major flaw:his will instinctivly 'go solo' when he gets the ball, unwilling to pass to anyone.Heck, why am i even commenting on his flaws when im not even a good soccer player? Sheesh.I cannot play soccer as the cross country season is approaching soon so our teacher in charge Ms Sheika forbid us to even touch the soccer ball. She is scared that we might get injured.Oh and do you see the half naked guy in the photo?I thinks his name is Gilbert and you may be wondering why he is half naked. On the soccer field. This may not seem very strange at the beach IF we were at the beach so why is he half naked?Well we cannot play in our school uniform so those who never bring the PE shirt and wants to play....they'll end up looking like our friend Gilbert. Not a bad way to get a tan, i reckon.
